VMA 132-03, Typography-Tuesday & Thursday 2:30p.m.-3:45p.m.
This course is an overview of the field of Typography. Students learn the fundamentals of typesetting and layout, and the principles of legibility and expression. Participation in class critiques introduces students to the design process of presentation and revision as they begin to create a portfolio of work. The course uses Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.
VMA 231-02, Digital Illustration with Illustrator-Wednesday, 1:00p.m.-3:45p.m.
In this course students will use their observational and conceptual drawing skills to create projects in Adobe Illustrator that communicate concepts and information. There will be an emphasis on developing visual research, sketching and rendering practices that support the finished presentation of illustrations, data graphics and logotypes using vector drawing techniques. Adobe Photoshop may also be used to augment projects.
