Under administrative direction, serves as a team lead performing strategic/architectural, operational, and tactical duties; serves as liaison; assists with development of system requirements, training needs and implementation of health informatics systems or systems modifications; provides first level support for business and personal productivity within health informatics databases; maintains system administration and operational support activities; defines, implements, protects, and maintains complex relational databases; provides guidance and direction to staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with six (6) years of related work experience. Certification in associated Epic applications or interface/database products is required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises application system analyst team; participates in planning, selection, and installation of process changes in electronic health records (EHR) clinical interfaces; coordinates with the EHR interface architect and owners of third party databases to establish data mapping plans and methods.

Provides advanced end-user support; responds to database issues; reviews issue logs to identify patterns; tracks performance of vendor in resolving issues within target dates; plans and implements installation, upgrades, and development projects.

Evaluates and recommends improvements to EHR system; serves as liaison between departments and software vendor for specific database applications; coordinates and maintains database security

Analyzes processes and related data to recommend automation improvements; sets architectural standards for data storage/warehouse, transfer, replication, reporting, disaster recovery, and backup; creates long-term strategic goals for maintaining high data quality; conducts research on new and emerging database administration and business intelligence technologies.

Performs other duties as assigned.
