Position is responsible for the management of the centralized computing resources for Metropolitan State University of Denver as well as the ongoing operational support and architecture of the university’s infrastructure, including network, server, storage, database and backup systems; domain services including Exchange, Windows servers, Active Directory and Desktop configuration & management. This position is also responsible for the daily operations of the university’s data centers, including sensitive data, equipment, power, cooling, fire suppression, and security system. This position serves as the primary vendor contact for Metro State’s enterprise and networked systems.
- Manages, monitors, and ensures the smooth and undisruptive operation on the university’s data centers, including system availability and network connectivity. – Directs the design, acquisition, and implementation of necessary system and software upgrades to the university’s enterprise systems including network infrastructure, centralized servers and data storage, database and backup systems. – Develop, manage, monitor, and mentor the IT Professionals with the Infrastructure Services departments – Implements and maintains system resiliency by utilizing redundant and load-balanced systems – Management of financial, budget, and procurement duties, consistent with delegation of authority, college policies, and state regulations.
- Bachelors degree in IT Management, Computer Science, or related field. – 5 years experience in maintaining and supporting a large and complex technology environment. – Extensive knowledge of centralized enterprise-level hardware and computer systems – Excellent oral and written skills, including ability to deliver presentations to audiences with different levels of technical sophistication. – Experience in creating and planning long-term business strategies. – Knowledgeable of IT trends and issues facing higher education.
Masters degree in IT Management, Computer Science, or related field. – experience in higher Education information technology.
