Job Description:


  • Provide an orientation session(s) for participating students;
  • Tutor students on the effective use of Moodle and address Moodle questions related to course assignments, discussion participation, and other elements of course completion;
  • Address student's questions about GCC courses and programs, campus activities, and other components and services available at and through the college;
  • Guide students in educational and career planning/initial academic advising;
  • Facilitate communication between students and other offices at GCC;
  • Serve as academic liaison between dually enrolled students and counselors at represented high schools;
  • Provide a supportive environment for study; and
  • Submit "concerning student" reports when needed.



  • Master's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field;
  • Two (2) years' experience and/or training that includes marketing, public relations, college admissions, credit evaluation, and academic counseling/advisement;
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver's license.
  • CORI check required


  • Experience with Banner or a similar student information system
  • Knowledge of Moodle or a similar online learning management system
  • Familiarity with and commitment to the community college mission
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
