Under general direction, assists in the overall daily operations of the office of international services (OIS); provides individual student advising and support to international students; coordinates cultural awareness programs for the OIS; assists in the implementation of social, cultural, educational and recreational programs designed to integrate international students into campus and community life; provides guidance and training to international student organizations.

Bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred; supplemented with two (2) years of related experience. Foreign language required.
Advises international students on issues relating to immigration, cultural adjustment and academic resources.
Participates in upholding regulation requirements of immigration compliance and SEVIS system reporting; supports students in understanding and maintaining visa status; maintains student SEVIS records, including but not limited to using immigration documents.
Identify and support at-risk students to assist in their successful transition to and persistence in University life.
Advises student organizations; assists students in the development of programs to create community and enhance their appreciation of multiple cultures.
Provides training to offices, departments, individuals and organizations on the acculturation process and advising on strategies for supporting international student success; collaborates with other University partners including, but not limited to: housing and residence life, U101, academic support services, undergraduate initiatives and English as a Second Language, in implementing programmatic intercultural activities and events that supplement classroom experiences; works closely with faculty and staff in developing co-curricular activities for learning communities focused on international understanding; promotes dialogue and aids in the internationalization among groups that foster globalization on campus; serves on University-wide committees representing the OIS.
Plans and executes major department-sponsored cultural programs for the campus community; assists with the planning and leadership programs for student organizations; assists in the preparation and distribution of informational materials regarding the OIS events, activities, and schedules
Coordinates and administers orientation, arrival and transitional programming for first year international students.
Identifies and facilitates engagement with off-campus partners to promote opportunity, cross-cultural experiences and personal and professional connections within the community.
