The Education Manager is responsible for developing, organizing and executing a wide array of conferences and professional education programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing and/or managing diverse activities such as event planning, public relations, financial management, contract negotiation, marketing, sales, and personnel management.
Additionally, the incumbent collaborates on the designing and implementation of new professional education programs. This position will specifically work with pre-college age programs as well as online noncredit courses.
This position will be responsible to recruit, hire, train, and supervise live-in student staff for those programs with a residential component.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in adult/continuing education or relevant program area and three (3) years of experience in developing and administering non-credit educational programs, conferences and events, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. Positions may require evening and weekend work and travel.
Masters Degree in Communications, Hospitality Business Management , Public Relations, Marketing, Higher Education or other closely related field.
An additional 2 years of experience developing and administering credit or non-credit educational programs, instruction, or conferences and events.
An additional 1 year of supervisory experience.
Experience developing and managing budgets.
Experience with event management software.
