Detailed Job Description

An NIH supported post-doctoral position is available to develop improved stem cell gene therapies. The Trobridge laboratory is developing novel approaches to improve the safety and efficacy of hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy using foamy virus vectors. Molecular biology and genomic/bioinformatic approaches are currently being used to better understand the potential for vector-mediated genotoxicity, and to improve the safety of vectors. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to additional projects in the laboratory, including research to identify novel genes involved in cancer progression.
Dr. Trobridge has faculty appointments in the College of Pharmacy and in the School of Molecular Biosciences.
The College is substantially adding to its research and graduate education capacity.

Required Qualifications

All applicants must have a Ph.D. in Microbiology/Molecular Biology or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in gene therapy, molecular biology and/or virology.

The College of Pharmacy is located on Washington State University’s Health Sciences campus in Spokane. The College resides in the new Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences Building, a 125,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art research and educational facility, which offers many collaborative research opportunities.
