The Broadcast Engineering Tech Sr. will be responsible for achieving and maintaining first-class broadcast standards for the production and transmission of programming for the Center for Public Television and Radio and for WUOA/WVUA.

Additional Department Summary:

This position is responsible for leading the Center for Public Television and Radio and WUOA/WVUA in achieving and maintaining first-class broadcast standards for the production and transmission of programming. In order to maintain these standards, great care must be given to the research, design, construction, and maintenance of the requisite technology and physical facilities.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of broadcast or relevant experience or an approved combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been obtained. Management skills. Knowledge of high complex and sophisticated broadcast and computing software and hardware equipment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and electronic schematic diagrams. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of digital and analog technologies as used in a broadcast environment. Thorough understanding of broadcast and microwave radio frequency technology and theory of operation. Demonstrated experience with maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing analog, digital and RF equipment at the component level. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing high power, radio and television transmission systems including transmitters. Understanding of radio and television production and on-air operations. Demonstrated experience direction others on projects with adherence to deadlines. Understanding of FCC rules and regulations relative to TV and radio broadcasting and steps necessary for compliance. General knowledge of all building systems and knowledge of compliance standards with all related governmental industry regulations. Proven budget management experience. Must be willing to respond to problems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Equivalencies include a high school diploma or GED and six years relevant broadcast experience OR a two year degree or related training ant four years relevant broadcast experience. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 32614.44 Midpoint - $ 47299.20
