The Director of Learning Outcomes Assessment has the primary responsibility for implementing the college's outcomes assessment plan and serves as a resource and facilitator for assessment-as-learning to the schools and departments of the Division of Learning. Working with the Instructional Data Specialist, and overseeing Assessment Fellows, the Director of Learning Outcomes Assessment collaborates with faculty to enhance a culture of assessment. The Director assists chairs and faculty members in developing course and program outcomes and devises ways of assessing those outcomes. The Director maintains currency in the teaching-learning process to build credibility as a resource for best practices and builds support for student learning assessment models. The Director will: centralize reporting processes and tracking of program reviews, and course, program, and competency assessment; report annually on learning outcomes assessment and to fulfill state or accreditation requirements; and perform other duties related to enhancing systematic and useful assessment of student learning. In addition, in collaboration with appropriate campus committees and personnel, the Director will facilitate training of faculty, staff and students in the use of the institution's outcomes assessment system.
