The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the Facilities Services energy program. The incumbent is responsible for development of energy production and consumption reduction strategies for current Washington State University buildings as well as capital building projects. Monitors energy production and consumption. Develops and implements energy use awareness. Monitors and supervises energy procurement strategies.
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field, from an accredited institution; two (2) years related experience with demonstrated competence to perform duties; a professional license/registration applicable to the position specialty may be required. A minimum of seven (7) years construction related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Architectural from an accredited ABET institution.
Experience in mechanical design on facilities for higher education, public works contracting, and communication with diverse constituencies.
Experience with district utilities.
Accreditation as a LEED Professional.
Background in the design and Maintenance of steam, chilled water, air distribution, controls.
Experience with applicable computer applications (word processing, project management, CADD, E-mail, etc.).
Experience in preparation and management of construction contracts.
Possession of a Professional Engineer’s License.
