Under administrative direction, provides leadership and manages the University’s institutional research efforts; develops and implements an agenda for research, assessment, and evaluation to support planning, decision-making, and continuous improvements; manages the development and dissemination of reports for internal and external audiences.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics

Working knowledge of applied statistical analysis, modeling, and data mining techniques and tools for data analysis
Knowledge of academic assessment and program evaluation
Working knowledge of relational databases and the use of computer applications to manipulate and analyze data
Knowledge of SPSS, SQL, Cognos, and Microsoft Office suite of programs
Working knowledge of qualitative research methods, analytical techniques, and research processes, including design, data analysis/collection, and reporting
Strong analytical writing skills
Verbal communication skills
Interpersonal/human relations skills
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work as a member of a team and independently
Ability to lead and manage staff

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree, doctorate preferred; supplemented with three (3) years of related experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with University leadership across departments to identify priorities and establish and supervise implementation of a program of research, assessment, and evaluation.

Designs and conducts qualitative and quantitative research, assessment and evaluations; analyzes, interprets, and reports research results.

Coordinates and oversees completion of various institutional, agency, and governmental reports, questionnaires, and surveys.

Oversees data management and analysis for institutional reporting, ad hoc studies, and requests for information.

Supervises staff; facilitates collaboration and teamwork; oversees day-to-day- operations of the department; performs other duties as assigned.
