The Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, WA invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the chemical engineering program. Applications will be considered for this position at all ranks commensurate with qualifications as Assistant/Associate/Full Professor . The School welcomes strong candidates who can complement and collaborate with existing research programs in the School, the College of Engineering and Architecture at Washington State University’s Pullman campus, at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and with industries in Washington including life sciences, environment, and energy.
Duties: teach core and elective undergraduate and graduate courses in chemical engineering using traditional and/or newly emerging educational approaches, mentor a diverse group of students, develop collaborative research, establish an externally funded research program, and publish scholarly work.
• Earned doctoral degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field by the date of hire , must possess strong qualifications in biofilm research. Candidate for Associate Professor requires at least 6 years as an assistant professor or equivalent; candidate for Full Professor requires at least 6 years as an associate professor or equivalent.
• At least one degree must be in chemical engineering
• Ability to teach core chemical engineering classes
• Demonstrated record in biofilm research
• Demonstrated record of scholarly work and potential to establish a robust extramurally funded research program
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Commitment to collaborate with diverse internal and external groups
The Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering has 18 tenured or tenure-tracked faculty members including multiple fellows of professional societies, 500 undergraduate students, and approximately 60 PhD students.
