The Washington State University Foundation seeks a dynamic, driven, seasoned data professional to serve in a critical role on the Advancement Records Team.
This position is responsible for both the near tactical and long-term strategic data going into and out of WSU Foundation’s database system containing over 2,100 data elements, 500 of which are multiple-value fields. This position is responsible for the systems analysis, code review, design evaluation and implementations in support of business processes and fundraising objectives.
The incumbent will analyze, develop and maintain all data elements in the donor database and fill an important role that will define and implement new database coding as needed and/or delete or modify existing code based on approved data requirements; adding value and enhancing database systems to provide enhanced accurate results as part of data governance techniques and strategies. Data integration and business reporting strategies will be used when presenting data results.
The successful candidate will also actively participate in meetings with customers, executive leadership team members, deans and directors across WSU to ensure data reporting requirements are being met.
The position reports to the Advancement Records Team Leader.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND three (3) years of professional experience in business data analysis or related; OR, a combination of education and experience totaling seven (7) years from which comparable knowledge and ability are acquired.
Experience in a higher education environment.
Experience using SQL Server Reporting Services or other reporting writing software
Experience designing, implementing an trouble shooting stored procedures.
Prefer certification as a TDWI Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP).
Prefer Microsoft Certification(s): MCSE – Data Platform.
Strong understanding of data modeling tools.
Strong understanding of data modeling techniques.
Experience with SQL Server Data Tools – Business Intelligence (SSDT-BI).
Experience with Microsoft Access, Visio, Project, and SQL Server Management Studio Tools.
Experience with project management.
