Under the direction of the Vice President, the Associate Vice President works under broad, administrative direction with responsibility for providing strategic leadership and direction in planning, implementing, improving, and evaluating divisional departments and programs.

Additional Department Summary:

The Vice President for Advancement is responsible for promoting and providing support for the University of Alabama and reports directly to the President. In support and collaboration with the President's executive team, the Vice President for Advancement furthers the mission and vision of the University by providing executive level leadership, strategic direction, and management oversight for all aspects of the University's philanthropic initiatives including cultivating constituency relations and fundraising.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate or higher with a minimum of 7 years of experience; OR Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of progressive academic administration experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience may substitute for the classification minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Business, Public Relations, Marketing and experience managing a large, complex fundraising or sales team is preferred. Major, comprehensive or capital management experience a plus.
