Saint Anselm College invites nominations and applications for the position of President. Founded in 1889 by the oldest religious order in the Catholic Church, the Benedictines, Saint Anselm College is a four-year Catholic, Benedictine, coeducational institution dedicated to providing students with a liberal arts education that incorporates opportunities for professional and career preparation. As a learning community, the College encourages the lifelong pursuit of truth and fosters students’ intellectual, moral and spiritual growth, and seeks to enrich its graduates’ personal lives, work and engagement within their local, national and global communities. Saint Anselm is located on a hilltop overlooking Manchester, New Hampshire, within an hour of the seacoast, Boston, the White Mountains and the state’s Lakes Region.

Recognized for its strong academic programs in nursing, criminal justice and business, Saint Anselm College offers a rigorous curriculum steeped in the Benedictine tradition with a strong emphasis on the liberal arts and service-learning. The College enrolls approximately 1900 undergraduates to which it offers more than 40 majors, 4 pre-professional programs and more than 20 interdisciplinary minors. A close-knit network of faculty and staff provide a caring atmosphere of academic excellence, spiritual guidance and professional preparation, as well as the personal attention afforded by an 11:1 student/faculty ratio. An endowment of $85.3 million, as of June 30, 2012, and a 3.25% operating margin for the 2012 fiscal year have resulted in the College’s continued financial stability. The average class size is 18 students.

Saint Anselm College is seeking an engaged, strategic and seasoned leader who is committed to the academic excellence and advancement of this mission-driven institution. S/he must be a practicing Catholic and fully embrace and personify the 1500 year old tradition of the Benedictine order and the values of Catholic higher education. The next President will have strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to lead the College’s administrative, fundraising, strategic planning and capital projects initiatives. S/he will articulate a clear direction for the College in the coming era. The next President will foster a collegial and collaborative ethos that capitalizes on the richness of the Saint Anselm community, and ensure the College effectively manages its endowment, student financial aid assistance and enrollment. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion. Significant academic and administrative leadership experience is required and a terminal degree is strongly preferred.
