Under general supervision, assists providers and staff members in performing clinical reaserch activities; assists with clinical and clerical duties.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, in addition to graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant Program; supplemented with one (1) year previous medical experience (an externship at SLU may be substituted for one year experience); current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current certification or registration as a medical assistant is preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Under supervision, recruits, screens, reviews and administers approved patient consents for clinical research studies: aids in coordination of clinical study activity: attends research investigation meetings.

Participates in research team activities; assists with the implementation of research procedures and protocols; performs clinical activity including taking vital signs and blood draws.

Reviews and maintains clinical research records/charts for clinical interventions, medication record, and patient response to questionnaires.

Under supervision, compiles and enters clinical data into research database; reviews and presents data collected for assessment; submits documentation and correspondence for compliance with research protocols.

Performs other duties as assigned.
