The College of Applied Sciences and Arts at Southern Illinois University, School of Architecture, is seeking qualified applicants for anticipated positions of variable time term Instructor/Lecturer(s) positions in Fire Service Management. These are non-tenure-track appointments. Undergraduate and Graduate courses are taught in a variety of delivery formats including: traditional classroom, online, and hybrid delivery. Courses are held at off-campus locations throughout the United States and schedules may vary. Position(s) beginning Summer 2016, contingent on available funding.
Courses to be Taught: Data Analysis, Fiscal Aspects, Public Safety Governance, Community Risk Reduction, Leadership, Labor Relations, EMS Education, EMS Communication, Management of EMS, EMS Public Information, Emergency Management Organizational Response, Homeland Defense, Emergency Management Professional Development, Domestic Terrorism, Strategic Design and Budget, Homeland Security and Emergency Management Governance.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree by date of hire in a major appropriate to the course(s) being taught. Postsecondary teaching experience and/or industry-related experience. Ability to travel to specified location for teaching specified course(s).
Preferred Qualification: PhD
Responsibilities: To teach undergraduate and graduate course(s) as indicated above. Use the required Learning Management System as indicated by the university. Provide the students appropriate contact information to include SIU email and phone contact information. Provide grades within the specified deadlines. To maintain contact with the FSM staff for student inquiries and grading requirements for up to six (6) months from the last scheduled class meeting date.
