Position will be responsible for performing work in support of scientific research which provides practical experience using advanced skills and knowledge to perform complex investigative procedures; modifies procedures to accomplish research goals; collect, process and analyze data; and run research protocols. Additionally, this position will be responsible for day to day operation of laboratory including ordering material, equipment troubleshooting and assistance in laboratory documentation.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent related field experience performing professional-level work with scientific or clinical research protocols. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Masters degree in relevant field of study. One year experience in relevant research field of study. Understanding of basic statistical methods. Understanding of computer programing, experience with electrical and mechanical engineering, plant propagation, molecular biology experience and biochemistry.
We are looking to hire a research technician to join our plant physiology laboratory of four postdoc and five graduate students. The person hired will assist in graduate student and postdoc research. Additionally, the successful candidate will be given independent research project generally focused on C4 photosynthesis, isotope exchange and biochemistry. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and training in stable isotopes, photosynthetic gas exchange, mass spectrometry and measurements of leaf isotope exchange with tunable diode laser and cavity ring-down systems. Additionally, desired experience in computer programming (Lab view and R), mechanical/electrical engineering to develop novel software for data analyses and development of custom instrumentation. The initial appointment will be for one year and is potentially renewable with continued performance. Salary is competitive and is commensurate with education and experience.
