Under general direction, develops and implements advising and support programs for transfer and prospective students and advises other students as necessary, organizes and administers or teaches courses offered through the programs, provides support and direction as staff liaison for student organizations and peer mentors, serves as a member of the Committee on Evaluations and serves as administrator for social media outlets and program websites.

Knowledge of University policies, campus resources, student life, and support resources.
Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population, including minority and international students.
Strong interpersonal relations skills.
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Ability to maintain confidential information.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree, supplemented with one (1) year of related work experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Advises and supports students who are interested in attending Saint Louis University and who are specifically interested in pre-law and pre-health tracks.

Assists transfer students who are interested in the pre-law and pre-health tracks by exploring majors, evaluating transfer credits that fulfill pre-med requirements, designing four-year plans and providing assistance in the transition to the University.

Teaches courses in the pre-health curriculum and sections of UNIV 1010

Serves as staff liaison to the several student groups who are affiliated with pre-health and pre-law studies. Assists with recruitment, program planning, fundraising and identification of resources within and outside of the University community. Assures that activities are in keeping with the policies of the University.

Sits on the Committee on Evaluations, which undertakes a comprehensive review of the strength of the candidacies of students who are applying to post-graduate school in medicine, optometry, dentistry, veterinary sciences and podiatry.

Performs other duties as assigned.
