The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is currently seeking to fill an Administrative Program Specialist position within the Graduate School, in the Office of Graduate Education.
The Graduate School is responsible for the mission of graduate education at UWM. As one of just two public research universities in the state, UWM is Wisconsin’s premier public urban university offering 135+ master’s, doctoral, professional and graduate certificate programs, more than any other university in Southeastern Wisconsin. The Assistant Director provides leadership, strategic management, and training for the development, enhancement, and guidance of the graduation and retention functions of the Graduate School; coordinates the implementation of these functions both within and outside the Graduate School; monitors and advises on doctoral students’ progress, milestones, and graduation; monitors and advises on doctoral program requirements and policy changes; and develops and delivers programming related to graduate student professional development.
The Assistant Director provides direction and leadership for all aspects of the Graduation and Retention sub-unit of the Office of Graduate Education in the Graduate School and supervises the graduation and retention specialists in that sub-unit. The position reports to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Education.
