Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Development, the Coordinator- Campaigns will actively coordinate a dynamic portfolio of multidisciplinary and interdepartmental fund development initiatives directly overseen by the AVP. The Coordinator's primary focus will be to coordinate activities that support, enhance, and leverage the AVP's engagement, cultivation, and stewardship of high-priority, high-contact principle gifts prospects, but may also include providing coordinative support of those fund drives, special gifts, and mini-campaigns that are personally led by the AVP. Exercising outstanding initiative, judgment, creativity, and discretion, the Coordinator will work collaboratively with many campus units and executives, high level donors, and key volunteers.
Essential Functions. Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:
1) At the direction of the AVP, plan, implement, and flexibly adjust logistics for an array of complex, important, and often sensitive activities, events, initiatives, and projects involving the Office of the President, various offices of vice presidents and deans, and key university stakeholders including trustees, advisory board members, and top donors. These activities may entail developing presentations, editing gift templates, and maintenance of selected donor lists. Prepare, regularly update and distribute project and initiative planning documents as well as periodic reports tracking progress to milestones for those efforts.
2) Perform advanced clerical and administrative responsibilities, as required by the AVP, including but not restricted to: scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence to donors and prospective donors, entering development action reports, compiling and distributing meeting minutes, maintaining accurate files, coordinate budgets and expenditure reporting, processing financial documents and purchases, and creating and maintaining complex documents and reports.
3) Conduct supplementary prospect research as required.
4) Other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, business, or other related field and two years' experience related to the summary of duties or any combination of education and experience totaling six years.
OR
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in a related field.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Knowledge of best practices in internal and external communications, correspondence, and appropriate matters of etiquette in various settings or vehicles
- Knowledge of databases and accounting software.
- Knowledge of fund development field helpful.
- Professional demeanor and poise

- Outstanding phone manners
- Strong editing and writing skills, including with written correspondence
- Basic business math
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and web browsers.
- Solid creative, design, and multimedia skills preferred

- Ability to plan and evaluate actions effectively
- Ability to respond effectively to change and to anticipate potential changes and act accordinglyAbility to successfully enact strategic changes affecting multiple stakeholders, including high level university leaders

- Ability to effectively handle confidential and sensitive matters with appropriate caution and discretion.
