To provide recruitment and academic advising services to prospective students, make presentations, and attend recruiting events to provide information to prospective students on options and programs available, attend educational affairs and special events, recruit prospective students, advise students regarding degree plans, admissions, registration, procedures and other requirements necessary for enrollment, assist in the development of recruitment and advising materials and maintain and update records and files. Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director. This includes new student orientation each term, assist with telephone and written correspondence and scheduling.
The Assistant Director is primarily responsible for the recruitment of new students and advising students of their academic progress and to support the University’s mission and core values as a contributing member of the University’s community and the Gwinnett Education Center.
Experience with academic administration, academic advising, and academic recruiting. Experience with admissions and financial aid procedures, knowledge of sales and marketing strategies and techniques. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize work.
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Academic or other counseling background preferred. Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
