The Department of Sociology at Bentley University invites candidates with primary areas of specialization in: medical sociology, sociology of sport, crime/deviance, consumer societies, and/or gender for a Lecturer position, subject to final administration approval and funding authorization, with contract beginning July 2013 to end of June 2014.

Sociology is one of eight Arts & Sciences departments in the business university with strong ties to other departments. While methodological and theoretical approaches are open, consideration will be given to candidates who have scholarly/teaching interests in qualitative inquiry, especially pertaining to ethnographic studies of practice, ethnomethodology, and/or conversation analysis. The applicant should have completed, or be near completion of, a doctorate degree (Sociology preferred) and demonstrate a strong commitment to and excellence in teaching.
