Clinical Placement Coordinator

Department: Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science

Job Description:

The Clinical Placement Coordinator (CPC) collaborates with faculty and students in developing and implementing plans for over 400 student clinical placements annually.  This involves reviewing program and student clinical site requests and available site preceptors for the various clinical courses, as well as continually evaluating current sites and developing new sites with available and competent preceptors. The Clinical Placement Coordinator acts as liaison to the community consortia, responsible for all nursing placements in the greater San Diego area.  The Clinical Placement Coordinator reports to the Dean and the Director of the Advance Practice Nursing Program (APN) in the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science.  The Clinical Placement Coordinator collaborates with the Assistant Director of Student Services to Advanced Practice Nursing Program in the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Sciences, who is responsible for follow-up on paperwork for the student portion of the clinical placement process.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 5 years of experience in nursing practice, education, administration.

• Knowledge of clinical components of advanced practice nursing education.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills

• Self-starter

• Ability to work collaboratively

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• High level of attention to detail

• Strong organizational, administrative and problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

• Working knowledge of San Diego County Health Care Agencies, Practice Settings and Institutions.
