The Enrollment Marketing and Communications Manager supports the college’s and area’s enrollment objectives by assisting with the coordination of efforts that will best promote various special/summer programs, both on and off campus.

Function:

Under the broad supervision of the Associate Director of Summer Programs, the Enrollment Marketing and Communications Manager oversees the optimization of enrollment by ensuring the highest possible conversion of prospective students to applicants, and applicants to enrolled students. The Enrollment Marketing and Communications Manager will develop and oversee information flow and constituent contact strategies using various electronic media, and direct contact. This position will supervise a seasonal temp position as well as media and content assistants, and various seasonal employees, with a view to effective and efficient customer service. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Manage engagement and conversion strategies for prospective students, applicants and enrolled students, employing various CRM systems.
  • Create and execute manual and automated communication tracks for each program and level of engagement.
  • Manage relationship data related to registration, marketing, scholarships, housing, program requirements, etc. communications.
  • Hire, supervise and train content management staff, including one temp position, three student employees, and various seasonal employees.
  • Generates and coordinates distribution of written and electronic applicant/participant acceptance letters and related correspondence.
  • Deliver personal and relevant communications that effectively target specific market segments with a customized message. Manage market segments and send timely communication based on Summer Programs goals.
  • Work with Communications department's editorial staff to ensure all messaging sent by the Summer Programs office is proofed, and in line with the college's brand guidelines. Create and edit print materials and ensure correct placement of messaging imagery and copy.
  • Oversee content creation and distribution through email, web, and social media platforms.
  • Work directly with all summer program directors to facilitate communication between programs, prospects, and enrolled students
  • Develop, revise, generate and manage all applicant correspondence—acceptance letters, enrollment materials and information.
  • Develop and manage direct constituent contact strategies using direct messaging (email) and planned periodic phone contact.
  • Work with Office of Enrollment to align strategies to reach college recruitment goals
  • Chief information advisor: Work directly with Marketing Manager and Communications Manager to assist in the development of appropriate marketing materials, web content, and applicant/student/parent informational communications. 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee Enrollment Assistant’s execution of student satisfaction, parent and marketing surveys and reports.
  • Undertake research projects related to marketing and program development.
  • Act as point-person for enrollment related issues for off-campus special/summer programs.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts and events, on and off-campus.
  • Undertake special projects and provide general support to the Associate Director and Director of Summer Programs.
  • Assist with the international Five-Week check-in and with all other programs check-ins.
  • Possible Additional Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Limited recruitment travel.
  • Represent Summer Programs on college committees associated with job responsibilities.

Other Information or Comments:

The Enrollment Marketing and Communications Manager will develop and manage applicant conversion and enrollment strategies for the area. Summer Programs comprises over 20 programs annually amassing over 4,000 applications and enrolling around 3,000 students every summer. The Enrollment Marketing and Communications Manager will play a vital role in ensuring optimum enrollment through a process of coordinated engagement with prospective students, from initial point of contact through enrollment, and beyond. Berklee summer programs are vital to the college’s overall enrollment objectives and revenue goals. Around 30% of any entering fall class includes students who will have attended one or more summer program.

Required Skills

  • Excellent computer skills, Mac and PC, desktop technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills. 
  • Some travel required

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree and/or related experience preferred.
  • Strong background in Marketing and Communications.
  • Familiarity with CRM best practice and Prospect Management System operations.
  • Familiarity with creating digital and editing HTML content. 
  • Marketo and Salesforce experience or certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of current marketing and advertising trends in various mediums including but not limited to print and the web.
  • Project management experience required.
  • Staff management experience required.
  • Background in music strongly preferred.
