The Reporting Services Analyst (RSA) serves as the functional service manager for college wide enterprise reporting tools. The RSA independently maintains the day to day support of reporting services including, but not limited to, Entrinsik’s Informer.  The RSA works with clients to solve reporting issues and provides universal expertise and guidance with query writing.  

The RSA will support the Associate Director in efforts to improve and develop reporting solutions as new technologies or needs evolve.  

The RSA identifies reporting related business issues and data challenges and ensures they are tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner.  The RSA also plays a role in performing quality assurance, systems testing, and user acceptance activities.

The RSA provides leadership by identifying and supporting the ongoing refinement of internal best practices and by developing close partnerships internally and externally to ensure the delivery of high quality services that meet the needs of the Berklee community.  The RSA is a liaison between Berklee’s business areas and technical areas to assess needs and requirements for making reporting related recommendations for improving business processes or enhancing the end-user experience.  

The RSA adds industry knowledge and informed opinion to enterprise reporting related discussions. The RSA works on and manages projects on the college-wide Project Portfolio as related to reporting services.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain day to day support of reporting services and supports clients with query writing and dashboard reporting and analytics.  
  2. Supports efforts to improve or develop reporting solutions.  
  3. Identify and resolve or lead teams to resolve reporting issues.
  4. Serves as liaison between business users and technical staff.  
  5. Supports a reporting users’ group for report writers.  
  6. Provide subject matter expertise on the use of college-wide enterprise reporting services.
  7. Maintain a high level of communication with internal and external teams; providing clear, tactful, and complete directives, realistic deliverable deadlines and prompt feedback.
  8. Manages and contributes to Reporting Services projects.  
  9. Maintain a thorough understanding of existing service offerings and awareness of technical and business direction.
  10. Assists with translating business requirements into technical specifications.  
  11. Follow Enterprise Systems guidelines.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

  1. Participate as a member of college committees.
  2. Participate in conference presentations to share work done at Berklee with external colleagues.
  3. Train report writers on writing reports following best practices.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years experience supporting enterprise reporting services.
  • Hands-on experience in building enterprise reports, preferably with major professional report building software.
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues and excellent follow-up skills.
