This position reports to the Associate Director for Graduate Studies and the Academic Manager. Responsible for oversight and management associated with graduate student recruitment and training in the School of Molecular Biosciences. This position acts as a central point of contact for current and prospective graduate students and coordinates the functioning of a large graduate program (50+ students). This position also works with the Chair of the SMB Graduate Recruitment Committee (GRC).
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of academic advising experience or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Experience in an academic department at Washington State University.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, and personnel from other departments, and university administration concerning policies, procedures, and services.
Scientific related experience.
