Saint Louis University School of Medicine, a Catholic, Jesuit Institution dedicated to education, research, service and healthcare, is seeking a fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon for a faculty position in the Department of Dermatology. The qualified candidate must be board certified in Dermatology. Rank and tenure will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position will support a mid-level career or recent fellowship graduate and will provide an immediate strong clinical practice, with opportunities for both clinical and translational research, within the Department and across the School of Medicine.
The Cutaneous Oncology program is currently supported by one full time Mohs Surgery Faculty and involves multidisciplinary approaches and strong collaborations with our colleagues in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Oculoplastic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Surgical Oncology. We operate out at two sites, with 14 procedure rooms. We performed a total Mohs volume of 1800 cases for the 2014-2015 academic year. We also have a full cosmetic unit where the applicant could develop a cosmetic practice if they are so interested. Our melanoma program continues to expand and collaborates with Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology and basic scientists. The Mohs Surgeon will work closely and be supported by our 3 full time dermatopathologists, a full time Dermatopathology laboratory, a full time cosmetic dermatologist and several medical dermatologists. We have a young, dynamic and growing Department, with effective and supportive Faculty mentorship and a strong institutional and community based referral network.
