Detailed Job Description

Teach both undergraduate and graduate courses and conduct an ongoing program of research and publication in organizational communication. The position also includes advising and mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students.

THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-earning, assistant professor in organizational communication, to begin 16 August 2016. Applicants must have a completed Ph.D. in Communication Studies, or related field, prior to the start date. Those with an already-established program of scholarship and the potential for successful grant funding are preferred.
As a member of the department, the successful candidate will conduct research in the area of organizational communication and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses (masters and doctoral) focused in organizational communication. Applicants with any topical or methodological specialization(s) in the domain of organizational communication are welcome to apply. The candidate will also advise and mentor students at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels; serve on department, college, and university committees; and help contribute to a collegial, inclusive, and dynamic scholarly community.
