Under general direction, monitors areas of custodial services operations and staff performance; procures materials and services; oversees and monitors results of departmental projects and programs; assists with development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree; supplemented with three (3) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Works with supervisors to hire, train, monitor and evaluate staff performance; provides performance feedback and counseling; oversees, coordinates, and participates in the bi-annual performance communication (PCP) discussions and ensures timely completion and distribution.

Monitors and reviews policies and procedures and productivity standards for staff; takes action to amend, correct or improve performance; develops job specifications and training manuals; oversees training for respective areas.

Schedules, supervises, and evaluates projects; monitors special event preparations; reviews maintenance requirements and project proposals; monitors results of projects and programs; performs quality control inspections and follow-up; meets established timelines; oversees contractors performance and monitors work scheduled to ensure timely completion.

Oversees the general appearance of assigned buildings through weekly inspections; meets with supervisors to review schedules, concerns, issues, and provide assistance; coordinates with assistant managers to review issues and concerns and maintain consistency with procedures, cleaning practices, training, counseling, and PCP reviews.

Coordinates with the purchasing department to procure materials and services; monitors purchases within budgetary constraints.

May serve as a member of the emergency essential personnel staff and report to work during a closing to assist in carrying out the services of the University; performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
