The Department of Political Science at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor in Political Science beginning fall 2013. The successful candidate will be able to teach a broad range of courses in American politics with a focus on Racial and Ethnic politics, and contribute significantly to the internationalization of the political science curriculum. This may include participation in the First Year Success Program.
Candidate will be expected to work closely with and interact with colleagues. Candidate will teach 12 credit hours per semester, including evenings and weekends as needed (fall and spring). Candidate will also advise students in the major/minor. The candidate will be required to pursue scholarly activities. Summer classes are optional with additional compensation. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.
Doctoral Degree in Political Science or related field.
Ph.D. in Political Science. Experience working with students of color.
