Under the direction of the Manager – Benefits, assists in maintaining the organization of the Benefits Office. The position also provides moderately complex and confidential administrative support to the benefits area such as maintaining records, running reports, reconciling vendor invoices, creating billing and receiving statements, composing routine correspondence, and obtaining/providing factual information requiring knowledge of UVU benefit plans, policies, procedures and guidelines of both assigned and work related areas.
High School Diploma or GED required
Two years of paid office experience related to the summary of duties.
Knowledge of benefit definitions and terms.
Knowledge of office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel.
Skills in the use of computers and computer software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Pro and Outlook email.
Skills in organization, database management and coordination.
Skills in balancing and reconciling accounts.
Skills in gathering data, compiling information and preparing reports.
Ability to interact with a diverse employee population in a friendly, professional manner and to effectively communicate complex information verbally and in writing.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA laws and regulations.
Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision.
Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
