Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in nuclear chemistry, radiochemistry, or related areas of chemical science, and in general chemistry.
Develop and maintain an innovative, competitive, vigorous, and nationally and internationally recognized research program in chemistry.
Establish and maintain significant external research funding in support of the research program.
Advise high quality graduate and undergraduate research.
Participate in course, laboratory, and curriculum development in chemistry.
Participate in recruitment of highly qualified students into the Department of Chemistry.
Participate in Departmental, College and University faculty activities.
Cooperate with other faculty in the use and acquisition of research equipment.
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in chemistry or a closely related field is required by the hire date.
Evidence of the potential for establishing and maintaining an outstanding research program is required. Such evidence may include a strong publication history in peer-reviewed journals, letters of recommendation, and a professional research proposal (including estimated startup budget requirements and estimated cost) in the area of nuclear chemistry/radiochemistry. The research proposal submitted by the applicant is an essential component of the application and should demonstrate the applicant’s potential for obtaining major external funding.
The successful candidate must be qualified to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level in the nuclear chemistry/radiochemistry curriculum, related areas of chemical science, and in the general chemistry program. The potential for developing excellent teaching skills is essential.
The successful applicant must possess the potential to excel as a supervisor and mentor to graduate and undergraduate students.
Excellent spoken and written English language skills are essential.
Candidate for Associate Professor requires at least 6 years as an assistant professor or equivalent.
At least one year (12 months) of Postdoctoral experience or equivalent. The ability to excel in a culturally diverse environment is highly preferred.
