Detailed Job Description

In accordance with all NCAA, conference, and university policies the position of Promotions Manager reports to the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations; is responsible for handling game day preparations and staffing of specified athletic events; develops marketing and promotional plans for assigned sports to increase awareness, entertain fans and increase attendance for selected sports as designated.

Demonstrated skill and working knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher and various other computer applications
Must demonstrate high energy, flexibility with work schedule, innovation and demonstrated abilities to recognize potential issues that require effective and efficient problem solving skills and execute appropriate solutions
Strong commitment to customer service and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of groups including administrators, coaches, students, faculty and staff

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, with masters degree preferred, supplemented with one (1) year of relevant experience with an intercollegiate athletics program which includes demonstrated event management experience; must possess a valid US drivers license.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Works as a liaison with the University Community Relations offices, student spirit organizations, student government association and the student involvement center.

Coordinates and oversees game management and athletic events for selected sports

Assists in the game management for all assigned postseason NCAA or A-10 events.

Executes on-field/court promotions with a student focus.

Develops promotional marketing plans for specific sports and actively solicit and secure group ticket sales for select sports.

Manages the Billiken Kids Club.

Coordinates Billiken mascot appearances as requested on- and off-campus and will assist with the select special events and community outreach efforts.

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
