This position exists to serve as a tenure-track member of the Biology faculty teaching 12 credits per semester: day, evening, weekends and online as needed, mentoring undergraduate research, and providing academic advising to students.

Tenure-Track Faculty Member: Teach 12 credit hours per semester, including all required laboratories. Teach Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Advanced Human Physiology, and Neurobiology. Establish a research program and direct undergraduate research projects at an institution with limited animal care facilities. Provide academic advising (biology major, minor and pre-medical), engage in professional development, and participate in university and community service. Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse urban student population including (but not limited to) students of color, LBGTQIA students, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non-traditional students, student veterans, and English-language learners.

Required Qualifications

Earned Doctorate in Neurobiology or closely related field by July 1, 2016.

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive graduate-level training in neurobiology.

Demonstrated ability to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology and upper division courses in Neurobiology and Advanced Human Physiology.

Experience advising undergraduate students.

Experience conducting research with student involvement.
