Detailed Job Description

Responsible for supervising a comprehensive program of client services for the Arnold, Glen Burnie Town Center and Arundel Mills Financial Aid Offices. In addition, the Assistant FA Director for Client Services is responsible for overseeing the Federal Work-Study Program.  

Required Qualifications

Bachelor degree or higher required

Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in financial aid management, preferably in a post-secondary educational institution.

Proven leadership skills

At least two years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge of automated data processing systems.

Knowledge of Internet and web page functions.

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to make public presentations.

Experience in counseling students, preferably in student financial services.

Demonstrated understanding of the role of financial aid, veteran and scholarship programs in a progressive, comprehensive community college.

Active participation in a plan of professional development to enhance job skills and to maintain currency in field.

Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a diverse population of students, parents, faculty, staff, governmental agencies, community organizations and the public.  

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Student Personnel Services or related field preferred.

Experience with Colleague system highly desirable.
