Southern Illinois University Carbondale announces an opening for the position of Assistant Director, Recreational Sports and Services (Fitness).
Responsibilities: The Assistant Director is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementation of fitness programming within the department. The position is directly responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all non-revenue and revenue-producing programs, staff and equipment related to fitness areas.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Recreation, Health, Physical Education or appropriate related field. Verified minimum 4 years (two can be within a graduate assistantship) experience in development and implementation of group fitness and personal training programs, including teaching group exercise classes and/or training fitness instructors required. Experience in hiring, training, evaluating and supervising student employees. Current national certifications in Personal Training and Group Fitness are required.

Compensation: The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes an excellent fringe benefits package including vacation, sick leave, health insurance, and waiver of tuition up to six hours per term.
