Detailed Job Description

Full-time, Assistant Professor position in the Departments of Mathematics and Physics commencing on August 16, 2015. This is a continuing, Tenure-Track appointment.

We are seeking a faculty member to hold a joint appointment in the Mathematics and Physics Departments with the primary department and tenure home reflecting the candidate's academic background/experience. Startup funds will be available.

The successful candidate is expected to pursue a vigorous research program, publish in professional journals, seek external funding, and teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics or Mathematics and have a record of scholarship, and teaching experience in mathematics or physics. Area of research must be in Mathematical Physics. Applicants with experience in algebraic methods (operator algebras, optimization and/or control) and/or quantum information/computation/control theory will be given preference as will applicants that can collaborate with one or more members from both departments so as to foster interdisciplinary research.
