The School of Accountancy of Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for one or more teaching positions in Taxation. Anticipated openings will involve teaching one or more 3-credit-hour undergraduate or master's level courses in taxation, including: Introduction to Tax, Advanced Tax, Tax Concepts, Tax Research and Procedure, Corporate Taxation, Partnership Taxation, State and Local Taxation, Estate and Gift Taxation, Tax Accounting Principles, and International and Interstate Taxation. These are term appointments that do not lead to tenure. No service activity is expected. Employment is for the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 semesters with the possibility of future reappointment depending on teaching needs. These positions are contingent upon final budgetary approval.
Qualifications: For appointment at the rank of Lecturer, applicants must hold a master's degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of two semesters, preferably six or more semesters, of teaching experience at an AACSB-accredited institution within two or more of the course topics listed above at the effective date of employment of 8/16/2015. Applicants must be strongly committed to quality teaching. Applicants for Lecturer must possess a record of professional experience and/or professional certification that would classify them as "professionally qualified" to teach at the master's level per the College of Business' most recent accreditation statement.
For appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professor applicants must hold a PhD in Accounting or other related terminal degree. Applicants for the position of Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professor must have a minimum of eight or more hours of teaching experience at an AACSB-accredited institution within two or more of the course topics listed above at the effective date of employment of 8/16/2015. Applicants must be strongly committed to quality teaching.
