Detailed Job Description

The Marketing/Promotions Coordinator position is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, developing marketing tools, and promoting Summer Session through a variety of events and activities.

This position coordinates day to day marketing operations, including developing and managing marketing and advertising budgets. Supervises a team of temporary/hourly employees.

The position involves lifting 20-40 lb. boxes or other heavy items when executing promotional events and activities.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field and three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Education or related field.

An additional one (1) or more years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience.

Experience training and supervising staff.

Experience in higher education marketing setting.

Experience which demonstrates ability in strategic marketing and communications planning utilizing a variety of medium including print, social media and web.

Experience which demonstrates the ability to direct web integrated website development including social networking and e-commerce.

Proficiency with Adobe graphic design suite including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Experience in the development and management of budgets.

Experience with comprehensive brand development and brand management.

Experience in the development and application of effective marketing strategies to reach college students and the university communities.

A valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
