Higher Education Administration Program

Position: Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration (Tenure Track)

The University of Alabama, Alabama’s oldest public university, is a senior comprehensive doctoral level institution whose mission is to advance the intellectual and social condition of the people of the State through quality programs of teaching, research, and service. The College of Education maintains a large array of programs from the baccalaureate to the Ph.D. and is heavily involved in research and outreach activities throughout the Southeast region. The College seeks an energetic, creative faculty member who can contribute to the mission of the College, while serving in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies in the Higher Education Administration Program, the only program in the State of Alabama with graduate Higher Education degrees approved by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in higher education administration or closely related field
• Evidence of scholarly potential, expertise and/or experience in higher education administration
• Ability to pursue a research agenda and external funding
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in higher education administration
• Ability to mentor and advise students
• Ability and experience to serve on and ultimately chair dissertation committees

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to teach in the foundations of higher education at the graduate level
