As a member of the University Communications team, this position provides oversight and direction for all strategic marketing-communications efforts for Washington State University Enrollment Management and Admissions. This position is responsible for collaborating with the Director of Recruitment to develop a strategic marketing plan, and implementing the plan with production timelines, resource and personnel allocations, high-quality writing, and the timely development of all recruiting collateral. This includes but is not limited to marketing promotions, web development, advertising, and presentations. This position is supported by and works under the direction of University Communications’ director and assistant director of marketing.
A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, mass communications or a relevant field AND three (3) years of professional experience in print or broadcast news media, public relations or marketing including proven experience with writing and editing skills; writing feature articles, brochures, annual reports and speeches; executing strategic communication plans and complex communication projects.
Professional experience in undergraduate recruitment marketing in a higher education environment.
Proven experience working on an undergraduate recruiting team.
Demonstrated experience in writing for a variety of media and styles, including magazine feature stories, news releases (Associated Press style), advertisements, and the web.
Knowledge of print production processes and experience coordinating the production of printed pieces from developing and conveying the concept through the design, proofing, and production phases.
Experience in higher education and non-profit organization.
Experience working in a large institutional or corporate environment.
Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
