University of San Diego, an independent Catholic University, seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science to begin September 2016. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, or statistics. The standard teaching load is an average of 3 three-hour undergraduate courses per semester, with the potential for a reduction from internal or external research grants. Faculty members are expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, maintain active scholarly pursuits, and engage in service to the university.
The successful candidate for this position will have the potential to be included in a small pool of faculty who will rotate through our new Fletcher Jones Endowed Chair in Applied Mathematics.
