Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Network Operations, the Sr. SharePoint/SQL Administrator will manage and check the overall health and functionality of the SharePoint/SQL environment. This person will monitor SharePoint disk space usage through the built-in SharePoint reports for each site collection, manage SharePoint permissions, analyzing and reporting SharePoint usage and activity. This person will also be responsible for managing and tuning all SQL databases in production, test and development.

  • Regularly auditing SharePoint environment along with identifying and reporting governance violations.
  • Creating new sites and list
  • Analyzing SharePoint and Storage monitoring SharePoint trends (site usage, growth, disk space and usage).
  • Understanding of firewalls, Load balancing, security zones, basic operation of websites, Application pools, IIS and SSL
  • Regularly reviewing, cleaning-up, managing and configuring SharePoint accounts and sites
  • Maintain all SQL databases along with tuning the servers as needed, transaction log selection, backup and recovery, maintenance planning and knowledge at the database level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SharePoint Central Admin and Power shell Administration
  • Comprehensive experience troubleshooting SharePoint Event logs , SharePoint farms an applying patches and updates
  • Comprehensive experience in maintaining and troubleshooting SQL problems.
  • Strong organizational, analytic, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Provide accurate updates on projects, change control requests and operational issues in the environment


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in deploying and managing SharePoint farms
  • Comprehensive  experience with SharePoint 2013
  • Experience installing and tuning SQL Server 2008 and 2012
  • Expert in sizing, capacity planning, backup and recovery planning
  • Strong SQL Server database performance analysis and tuning skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of Windows operating systems
  • After hours support as needed
  • Ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified Candidates should have a minimum of a SharePoint MCSE or MCSD SharePoint Developer and  MCSE in SQL Server

Additional Information

Salary Range: $80,000 to $85,000
