This is a full-time (12-month) clinical track position with diagnostic service, teaching, and scholarly activity responsibilities in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology (VMP) and the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (WADDL) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
RESPONSIBILITIES: The position is defined as 45% clinical service, 45% instruction, and 10% scholarly activity. Duties will include: a) diagnostic veterinary pathology service b) a primary role of teaching General Pathology with opportunities to teach in other pathology courses in the professional veterinary medicine curriculum, c) instructing post-DVM veterinary anatomic pathology graduate students d) instructing “Diagnostics Block” students in the 4th year professional veterinary medicine curriculum, e) scholarly activity associated with publication of diagnostic case materials and collaborative research activities and f) academic service to the CVM, VMP and WADDL.
The Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology seeks candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.
Applicants must have a) DVM (or equivalent) degree, b) successful completion of a post-DVM residency training program in veterinary anatomic pathology, and c) American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) board examination eligibility and intention to become an ACVP diplomate (or currently certified by European College of Veterinary Pathologists).
Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D) is preferred, but not required. The preferred candidate will be ACVP board certified, and have experience in teaching veterinary students.
