The successful applicant performs some or all of the following duties:
-Designs and teaches courses in specific subject matter.
-Plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study with measurable objectives.
-Prepares instructional materials, including instructional packets, syllabi, tests, handouts, electronic presentations, visual aids, etc.
-Instructs, manages, and supervises students, individually and in groups, in the classroom and laboratory.
-Evaluates instruction and learning through written, oral, practical, and performance testing.
-Assists with advancement and graduation activities.
-Assists with acquisition and maintenance of equipment, tools, reference materials, etc.
-Maintains appropriate office hours.
-Works with staff, administration, counselors, faculty, high school teachers, and an advisory committee to develop and advance program mission, goals, and course offerings.
-Continuously improves and updates courses to accommodate industry requirements.
-Keeps abreast of new technologies, trends, techniques, and developments by attending training seminars, workshops, industry work experience, etc. and by reading and researching industry publications, reference manuals, etc. to ensure long-term legitimacy of the program.
-Serves on committees and attends meetings as necessary.
