Frostburg State University, Department of Nursing, invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Nursing positions. These are grant-funded faculty positions to be based primarily on campus in Frostburg, Maryland. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications; University System of Maryland benefits package included.
Responsibilities: One position will work within a collaborative arrangement between Frostburg State University and Allegany College of Maryland in Cumberland. The selected candidate will teach BSN courses online and supervise students in traditional clinical settings at local healthcare institutions (12 credit hours per semester).
One position requires teaching 12 credit hours per semester in the online Associate-to-Bachelor's (ATB) option. ATB students are a unique student population in that they are two-year Associate degree students simultaneously enrolled in BSN coursework.
Duties for both positions include clinical supervision of students, student advising, curriculum design and evaluation, and participation on committees. The successful candidates will display evidence of leadership skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively. University and community service and relevant professional development will be expected.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (with 9 graduate credits in Nursing Education if degree is not in Nursing). Unrestricted license or eligible for RN licensure in Maryland. Completion of doctoral degree in Nursing or related field expected prior to tenure.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctoral degree in Nursing Practice, or doctorate preparation. Five or more years of experience in an academic setting; at least two years teaching Nursing full-time in higher education. Experience with online course design and instruction.
