Department of Mathematics
St. Edward's University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2016. The successful candidate will have a commitment to the university mission and potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching for both majors and non-majors. Scholarly activity in an area that broadens that of the current faculty, that leverages existing community and University resources, and that is conducive to undergraduate research is preferred. A Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, or a related mathematical field is required. Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check is required.
The teaching load is 4 courses (12 hours) per semester, with reassigned time for up to one course per semester based on scholarship and mentoring undergraduate research. Responsibilities also include academic advising, involvement in university, school, and departmental activities, scholarly activity, and other required faculty duties as specified in the Faculty Manual.
