Provides administrative support for department advisors in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. Performs moderately complex and confidential administrative support duties which require a range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Schedules appointments. Composes, edits, and proofreads correspondence and reports and prepares a range of administrative documents.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and one year of experience or any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.
Knowledge and experience of general office practices and procedures.
Knowledge and experience working in an education environment.
Knowledge of university policies, particularly regarding advising, registration, dates/deadlines, petitions. etc.
Skills in the use of computers and computer software applications, including word processing, outlook email, and databases.
Skills in office methods, techniques, practices & procedures.
Organizing, database management and coordinating skills.
Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision.
Ability to meet and deal positively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
Ability of compose and edit written materials.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
