Detailed Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of the ACE Program (AIC Core Education), the ACE Mentor will provide direct service to students enrolled in the ACE Program. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with transition to college, completion of required paperwork, and assistance in finding financial aid resources.

  • Monitor the academic progress of ACE students.

  • Assist in teaching AIC 101.

  • Assists with other ACE workshops, cultural events, or community service projects.

  • Keeps and enters up-to-date logs of student contact.

  • Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Associate's Degree is required.

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

  • Minimum three years experience working with first generation/low income students.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience with the internet.
